Budget: NRs. 340,000.00 (US$ 5,316.65)

As the potential dangers of contamination were brought to the forefront of the water and sanitation sector, emphasis was placed on the need to conduct testing so as to ensure clean drinking water.

This phase of the program involved the selection of water sample sources according to set source and sample collection points. The 33 samples were later analyzed through microbiological testing. Potential factors for contamination were identified and their relationship to contamination was assessed. Follow-up and proactive measures for the protection and treatment of drinking water were identified as well. IDS Nepal also conducted knowledge transfer of field-based testing to members of local NGOs so they could continue the testing on their own in the future.
