As the potential dangers of contamination were brought to the forefront of the water and sanitation sector, emphasis was placed on the need to conduct testing so as to ensure clean drinking water. This project involved water quality testing of 500 water samples for arsenic contamination. Awareness-raising techniques were also implemented, as the need for education is vital to the issue. IDS Nepal also conducted knowledge transfer to local NGOs so they could continue the testing on their own in the future.
