The Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) approach was used and CLTS-related activities were held in three communities. The project also involved the construction of community bathrooms, simple incinerators and school gardens in Plan Nepal working communities.
Within this particular phase of the program, two rainwater catchments were piloted, 11 school gardens were created, and 48 tube wells were rehabilitated. The project also entailed the construction of 516 domestic latrines, two community bathrooms, one sewage system, three flood control schemes, and five simple incinerators.
From the software angle of the project, School Health, Hygiene and Sanitation sessions were conducted in 20 schools and Early Child Care Development (ECCD) centres, and 39 courses on Water Management were provided. 253 Information, Education and Community (IEC) sessions on hygiene and water were also conducted during the duration of the project.
