Training on “Climate Change and Gender Perspective: Issues, Challenges and Climate Change Adaption in Nepal” (Completed June 2013)

Start Date: June, 2013
End Date: June, 2013
Donor(s): Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI)
Budget: NRs. 182,600.00

This 2-day training (June 4-5) was organized with the aim to orient and familiarize CECI/Uniterra Nepal’s partner organizations on climate change and gender issues, challenges and adaptation. There were 24 participants from different NGOs, cooperatives, and other civil services who participated in 10 sessions over the two days.

The specific objectives were: to sensitize participants to the links between policy and socio-economic issues in the context of climate change in different sectors of Nepal; to share the contextual experiences of climate change and gender – the linkages (gender-specific impact, gender-specific adaptation, gender-specific mitigation) from different parts of Nepal, and then adopt the best practices for preparing and carrying out participatory research exercises.
