The programme aims to improve health conditions in communities through the process of capacity building, community mobilization, mass sensitization and institutional strengthening. ODF Bardiya-III will capacitate and sensitize communities for safe disposal of excrete and ensure people’s access to proper hygiene and sanitation facilities and adoption of proper hygiene and sanitation behaviour.
Outcomes of the programme will include: reinforcement of the ownership and leadership of District Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Coordination Committee (D-WASHCC), further support and commitment of political parties, strengthened institutional arrangements and enhanced community-level planning in ODF establishment, declaration and post-ODF interventions, and reduced prevalence of diarrheal disease and improved health conditions.
