During this project, IDS Nepal researched the existing approaches of gender mainstreaming in transport / infrastructure development projects and programs, the factors (social, cultural, technical) that constrain the participation of women in such project initiatives and hinder their access to project resources and benefits. Using the information researched, a Gender Policy document was prepared and included lessons learned from applied approaches and recommendations for moving forward.
