Location: Tikapur
Donor(s): Global Sanitation Fund (GSF) / United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN–HABITAT)
Budget: NRs. 2,727,360.00 (US$ 34,092)

The overall objective of the ODF campaign is to ensure people’s access to improved sanitation facilities and promote to more hygienic practices in daily living. Through the processes of capacity building, community mobilization, mass sensitization and institutional strengthening, we can improve the overall health conditions of the communities.

The Tikapur Municipality project was successful in producing major results, such as the declaration of 700 households as ODF zones, and the formation and mobilization of 31 members in the Municipality Level Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Coordination Committee. The project also led to the formulation and endorsement of a plan of action entitled “Municipality Level Sanitation Strategy Plan”. Thirty additional cluster-level Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Sanitation Committees were formed in eight wards.
