Acknowledging Innovative Initiatives: The Adaptation at Scale Prize Project

Climate change related risks, if not addressed appropriately can have negative impacts on individuals and households, especially among the poorest and the most marginalized groups of people. Through cash awards, the Adaptation at Scale Prize Project (A@SPP) aims to identify and reward new and innovative ways to scale up and expand (scale out) the reach of such community driven climate change adaptation initiatives.

The A@SPP encourages eligible organizations to develop new and innovative ways to scale-up and scale out community driven climate change adaptation initiatives. It does this by offering cash prizes to organization that can demonstrate their new approach has been successful.

After the successful completion of Stage 1 (Protsahan Prize), the Stage 2 (Karyanwayan Prize) of the A@SPP is under implementation from March, 2017 to December 2018. This stage in Nepal is being managed by a joint venture consortium constituted under the overall coordination responsibility of IDS-Nepal and Partnership with CGED-Nepal and SIAS. This is a sub-contract arrangement with the main contractor-IMC Worldwide led consortium based in United Kingdom, financed by Department for International Development of UK Government.
